The 2019 calendar cover image is from Rice University in Houston, TX.

Columbus, OH. This human like bronze deer sculpture is the creation of artist and country singer Terry Allen. The inspiration? The name "Scioto" comes from the Shawnee American Indian word for "hairy water" because the Shawnee Indians found deer hair floating in the river after migrating from the Carolinas.

Kingsbury, TX. You just never know what you'll find off the beaten path. Kingsbury is mostly a ghost town these days. The 2010 census registered a population of 782.

Cincinnati, OH. Downtown basks in the glow of a beautiful sunset as witnessed from the Kentucky side of the Ohio River. Cincinnati is the birthplace of William Howard Taft, the 27th President of the United States.

Dubina, TX. Fayette County, TX; is the home of the nationally famous "painted churches". Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church is captured here. The first church the settlers built was destroyed by a hurricane in 1909. The community pulled together and used the beautiful oak trees in the area to build this new, grandeur church, which was finished in 1912.

Lancaster, OH. Stebelton Park at Rock Mill features the historic Rock Mill and iconic Rock Mill Covered Bridge. Built in 1824, Rock Mill was one of a dozen grist mills in the area whose power source was the Hocking River. The mill was grinding corn into wheat and meal as lates as 1905.

Dayton, OH. The month of June hosts the Vectren Dayton Air Show. The US Navy Blue Angels are captured in the "pass in review". The Blue Angels were formed in 1946, making it the second oldest formal flying aerobatic team in the world after the French Patrouille de France formed in 1931. The Blue Angels are piloting the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 "Hornet".

Lexington, OH. The Verizon Indy Car Series returns to the road course as the Honda Indy 200 at Mid Ohio brings the world's top open wheel racers to town. This is one of my favorite tracks! It is an awesome place for photography!

Stanton, KY. Creation Falls; Red River Gorge National Geographical Area. This intricate canyon system features an abundance of high sandstone cliffs, rock shelters, waterfalls, and natural bridges. There are more than 100 natural sandstone arches in the Red River Gorge Geological Area.

Chillicothe, OH. Yoctangee Park is a public park adjacent to the historic First Capital District. The name "Yoctangee" is a Native American word for "paint", a reference to the skin and clothing pigments of the culture native to the area.

Outskirts of Piketon, OH. An abandoned church lends a "spooky vibe" when processed in black and white.

Gettysburg, PA. November is our Salute to Veterans month. The battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War, the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "high water mark of the rebellion", Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle. Casualties and losses accounted for an estimated 50,000 on both sides.

Chillicothe, OH. Spring will be arriving soon and it will bring the roar of motocross racing at tracks throughout Ohio.
